What is a Treatment Planning CT?

It is a Computed Tomography (CT) scan that is for treatment planning purposes only. It is not diagnostic. It is performed in order to “plan” your radiation treatments based on the latest position of the cancer.

What is a Port Film?

It is an x-ray that is for positioning only. It does not let you know “how you are doing.”

Will the treatments make me sick or lose my hair?

The doctor would have gone over the side effects of your treatment and if you are unsure what they are in your particular case, please ask him/her again on patient review day.

Who do I call or talk to about?
Always call this phone number, 309-344-2831 and talk to:

  • Get a prescription refill, ask for Carol or Tiffany
  • Set-up treatment, ask for Carol
  • Talk to someone about scheduled tests, ask for Carol
  • Talk to someone about your treatment schedule, ask for a therapist
  • Talk to someone about your insurance and/or billing, ask for Melissa
  • Get a copy of all of your charges to file with your cancer insurance policy, ask for Melissa

What should I do if I can’t make my appointment?
All effort should be made to make your appointment. Cancer doesn’t stop growing because you need the day off or have another appointment. Cancer treatment should be your top priority. If, however, you just can’t get here due to weather, transportation, etc. then call us at

309-344-2831 and let us know you can’t come and why. You will need to make up the missed appointment by extending your treatments by the day/time you missed. It is very important to receive all of the treatments prescribed by the doctor.

What is Patient Review Day?
Every Tuesday is Patient Review Day and all current patients will see the doctor after their treatment. The purpose is to let the doctor know how you are feeling and to go over how your treatment is progressing.
